‘It starts with a question’ – expanding the theme beyond the Web to capitalize on the inherent strengths of a CD-ROM.
In 2003, Ove Design & Communications launched the sixth iteration of their website and a revised marketing and communications platform designed to articulate their client-centric strategic processes. Founded in the premise that every business relationship ‘starts with a question’, the site assumed a conversational tone, bringing clients centre-stage to voice the challenges faced by the corporations they represent and the industries in which they operate.
Our design for a CD-ROM-based compliment to the site leverages the site’s theme but adopts a more interpretive and playful approach. Here, we’ve visualized an environment – an open room with only two empty chairs, an iconic representation of an intimate dialogue. Simple 3D renderings of the room in rotation have been processed to yield a highly-stylized and monochromatic illustrative feel.
The viewer is given directional control of the space, allowing them to rotate the room to view the portfolio of design solutions that line its perimeter. The portfolio itself, in full colour, is elevated over its monochromatic ground and given a strength of presence. The end result is an environment at the heart of Ove’s finest work – an environment that is all-at-once surreal and engaging but supportive of the agency’s portfolio visuals. |
