Working in concert with our friends at Soapbox, we engineered explorechange, Seneca College’s recruitment site, in only six days. Normally, we wouldn’t draw attention to such things – but we’re also proud of the outcome.
Only days prior to launching an aggressive, multi-channel campaign, Soapbox Design approached us with the task of creating an online hub for Seneca’s marketing and recruitment activities. Given the timeframe and circumstances, we were hesitant to take it on. However, this was an opportunity to work closely with a design powerhouse – and that was too tempting to pass up.
At the time of our engagement, much of the site’s design and architecture had been articulated to Seneca and approved. Soapbox had laid a solid foundation for our accelerated development of the site. As proposed, the site called for a core Flash component housing the site’s top-tier navigation, messaging and video content. This became the showpiece of the site, carefully executed to approximate the energetic Soapbox-produced TV spot from the same campaign. Here, visitors can download print collateral, tour the various college campuses and watch video testimonials.
Housing the bulk of the site’s dynamic text content, the secondary and tertiary content tiers assume a more conventional multi-page HTML-based structure. To streamline the process of updating this material we assigned page text to a library of external XML resource files, effectively divorcing content from design.
